Senter Point?
I'll dig through some unpublished photos to see if I have anything slightly mysterious.
Also: what is the code for posting photos the way you just did it?

Re: A comprehensive question
"thorough hike" is WAAAAAY better than what I was about to suggest: A Minong Omnium --- or a Minongium for short (not that shortening anything is a desideratum!). I'm now calling it a Minong thorough hike. After a (uh) thorough review of the itinerary over the weekend, there are two sprea...

And there it was, all the time, just waiting for the right person to notice!
Thanks!

Re: A comprehensive question
Yeah. I've really latched onto the idea of hiking all the trails in a single visit. I prefer a leisurely place, so there's no danger of me racing through the experience. Being there for over a month sounds like a great plan! And I'd like to be able to describe it in a couple of words, like through h...

Re: A comprehensive question
You're both right.
(And yet there is what the Ozark Trail intends to be (at least in Missouri) and and is not yet (also known as "I'm over-complicating this".) I think about through-hiking it as well.)
I too have already seen most of the island accessible by trail, and still I return.

Re: A comprehensive question
So let me ask a different but related question: What would you personally consider a through-hike of Isle Royale?

One additional method is to day-hike to Hidden Lake from Three Mile.

Re: Backpacking Bell Mountain Wilderness In Missouri
I've been a few times, always in March and always from the Ottery Creek Trailhead.
It would be wise to check in with the ranger district in advance to make sure there aren't any planned closures. Those happen for various reasons.
There are also some nice parts of the Ozark Trail.

Thanks for the trip report. I'm headed over on Friday, so the fall color will have developed a bit more.

Re: Feedback requested on first paddling trip
This is so helpful, and so was your trip report. The weather you described was not all that different from my previous September trips, but I wasn't on the water for either of them. I am indeed going solo and will have a VHF marine radio and a Spot (renting one for the trip). Still have a few minor ...

Feedback requested on first paddling trip
My ninth trip to ISRO will be my first paddling trip, partially due to wasting no time in preparing for a slightly harebrained scheme *. For this first trip, it seems wise to stick to Rock Harbor, with a possible side trip to Merritt Lane, if time and weather permit. Or I might start with Merritt La...

Re: Soliciting Itinerary Feedback for First IRNP Trip!
Lane Cove is nice enough, and I'm always going to select Moskey if given a choice. So I second the suggestion to skip Lane Cove.
(I love the idea of water taxiing to Moskey.)
